My friend Erzsi is part of the Waikiki Acrobat Troupe and invited me to one of their practices to take photos. The troupe was rehearsing the routine they were to preform on New Year's Eve, when they would open for the Village People.
I was fortunate enough to get to attend the Village People concert. The troupe, with costumes designed by Erzsi, put on a great performance as characters from Alice in Wonderland. After they preformed, Ashanti made a surprise performance, and then the Village People took the stage and performed all of their hits. It was a very entertaining, fun, and funny night.
On a side note, I had a bit of difficulty editing the images in this group; a lot of the photos were more a document of the troupe's rehearsal than they were images that I would use as my own artwork. I almost decided not to post from this shoot, but then I realized that there were, in fact, a few images in the group that could only have been taken by me. I've included those here.
To the Acrobats--thank you for allowing me to photograph you and capture some of the amazing feats you perform.
Enjoy!
